การใช้ Dare
Dare แปลว่า กล้าที่จะ ใช้ในประโยคคำถามหรือปฏิเสธ ไม่มีรูปอดีต และมีวิธีการใช้เหมือนกับ need ทุกประการ คือ
1. Dare ทำหน้าที่เป็น auxiliary verb เช่น

| Dare you climb this tall tree ?
Yes, of course I can. No, I dare not. Dare he love her ? Yes, of course he is bold to love her. No he dare not. Dare they tell the truth ? Yes, I am sure they must. No, they dare not. |
You dare not climb this tall tree.
He dare not love her. They dare not tell the truth. |
2. Dare ทำหน้าที่เป็น Principal verb เช่น

| We dare to tell a lie.
You dared to hit him. They dared to blame you. She will dare to marry him. He has dared to kill someone. |
We do not dare to tell a lie.
You did not dare to hit him. They did not dare to blame you. She will not dare to marry him. He has not dared to kill anyone. |

Yes, we do.
